ABOUT
Amalfi, Italy
This colour photograph captures Amalfi at blue hour, as the last light of day settles over the cliffs and the Tyrrhenian Sea. The town appears suspended between land and water, its pastel façades and terracotta roofs gently illuminated against the deepening cobalt sky.
The winding coastal road curves along the rock face, guiding the eye through layers of architecture that cascade toward the shoreline. Warm interior lights glow softly within the buildings, creating a subtle contrast with the cool tones of sea and sky, and reinforcing the sense of evening calm.
Framed by dramatic cliffs and open water, the composition reflects Amalfi’s distinctive character as both refuge and theatre. The balance between natural landscape and human settlement gives the image depth, atmosphere, and quiet Mediterranean elegance.
The Print
Framed Acrylic Glass
Each photograph is offered as a museum-grade fine art print, produced in collaboration with WhiteWall, one of Europe’s most respected professional print laboratories. This presentation reflects the work as it is intended to be seen — complete, considered, and ready to hang.
Every element is chosen with care, balancing material quality, proportion, and longevity. The result is a finished piece with a calm, confident presence, designed to sit comfortably within contemporary interiors.
Framing and Paper
The image is printed on Hahnemühle Photo Rag Baryta 310 gsm, an archival cotton paper known for its depth, clarity, and refined surface. Its tonal response allows both colour and black-and-white images to retain richness while remaining controlled and natural.
Each print is individually prepared and soft-proofed for this paper, ensuring the final result reflects the intent of the image. The photograph is presented with a generous natural white museum-grade passepartout, allowing space around the image and reinforcing a sense of balance and stillness.
The work is finished in a slim black oak frame, chosen for its understated character and quiet strength. Museum glass completes the piece, offering clarity and UV protection while keeping reflections to a minimum.
